Kensington Doulas would be happy to look after you and your newborn baby throughout your pregnancy, birth and postnatally. Living in the West London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Mary-Rose Pignatelli, Annabel Athill are now Doulas. They formed Kensington Midwives as a private practice 8 years ago, having worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London. They each have three children. They retired from the Register of Midwives in October 2017.
Kensington Doulas believe that their knowledge and care can give you the confidence necessary for a happy and natural birth, reducing the risk of complications. Mary-Rose Pignatelli trained as a nurse and became a midwife in 1988. She also completed a Diploma in Occupational Health. She then spent time with her three teenage children before returning to midwifery 14 years ago.
Annabel Athill completed a Midwifery Degree and trained at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, from 2005 to 2008. She has three grown up boys.
In January 2014 Kensington Midwives joined Private Midwives, fully insured leading providers of private maternity care. In October 2017 Mary-Rose and Annabel decided to work as Doulas and invited Suzanne Smythe to join them. As they now offer no clinical care any specific midwifery care will be taken on by a midwife from Private Midwives.
